The City

Located in the heart of Santa Rosa County is one of the oldest cities in the state, sits Milton Florida. Comprised of 5.5 square miles surrounded by one of the most diverse areas of the state with abundant agriculturally rich soils and large stands of timber to the north to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world to the south. Milton is the heart, the history of the county preserving the past while prompting the future.   

Created as a Milltown in 1844 Milton is very proud of its heritage. Home to approximately 10,500 people, it is the largest city in a county of 190,000. Today, the municipality offers an abundance of water borne fun and expansive green spaces within the vastly growing area.

Job Summary

The successful candidate for this role will be an experienced senior level public administrator with demonstrated success in infrastructure planning, community engagement and organizational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

The minimum educational requirement for this position is a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university. A master’s degree or ICMA-CM certification is highly desirable. The city is seeking candidates with five or more years of experience as a senior-level public administrator in a full-service city or comparable organization of similar size and complexity.  Experience as a City Manager, Director, Administrator, Deputy, or Assistant City Manager is preferred.

The target hiring range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000, depending on qualifications.
