The Charlotte County Attorney’s Office is accepting applications for the
position of Assistant County Attorney. Interested applicants must be
licensed to practice law in Florida and have at least three (3) years of
experience in local government, with emphasis in public procurement and
related transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have diverse
experience in many local government practice areas. Duties will vary based
on policy directives and departmental demands.

Candidates should be able
to independently analyze County legal issues and advise County staff and
elected officials; draft, review and revise legal documents such as
contracts, ordinances, resolutions, leases, legal opinions, policies and
procedures; attend public meetings as legal advisor to local boards and
committees; and work closely with County administration and department
heads to execute the policy directives of the County Commission.

The
salary for the position is negotiable depending on experience. Range is
$89,985 – $143,520 annually. The position is at-will and serves at the
pleasure of the County Attorney. Position open until filled.
