The Escambia County Office of the County Attorney seeks a self-driven applicant to fill either an Assistant County Attorney or Senior Assistant County Attorney position. 

Expertise in real estate law preferred, and local government law experience encouraged.  The position is expected to be filled in the $70,283 to $148,324 salary range, depending on experience.

This class assists the County Attorney with multiple legal issues by providing legal analysis and advice to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) and County’s Administrative staff, taking all legal action necessary to achieve County goals and protect County interests, and being responsible for the prosecution and defense of all lawsuits and administrative hearings.

Training and Experience:
Senior Assistant County Attorney – Juris Doctorate and seven years of experience and Board certification related to practicing in local government law in the public sector and/or civil litigation trial; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Assistant County Attorney – Juris Doctorate and at least two years of experience in real estate law, local government law, and/or litigation; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Licenses and Certifications:
Member in good standing of the Florida Bar Association
