Position Summary

The Assistant County Manager supports the County Manager in leading daily operations, strategic planning, and departmental coordination. This position provides high-level leadership and oversight for essential county functions including public safety, public works, and community services, ensuring effective, efficient, and responsive government services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the County Manager in planning, organizing, and evaluating county programs and initiatives.
  • Provide administrative direction and leadership to multiple county departments.
  • Oversee public works, infrastructure, and public safety operations.
  • Support budget preparation, grants management, and long-range planning.
  • Represent the County in public meetings, intergovernmental affairs, and community outreach.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and innovation across County operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience in local government or a comparable organization.
  • Strong knowledge of public safety, public works, and local government operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
