Florida's capital city, Tallahassee, is a vibrant, diverse community home to nearly 200,000 residents, three major institutions of higher learning, a thriving business scene, and exceptional outdoor amenities.  Named one of the South’s Best Cities by Southern Living Magazine, Tallahassee is recognized as a leader in economic development, sustainability, and public service delivery.  The City of Tallahassee has 2,851 full-time staff and an FY2022 annual budget of $763 million, including a $282 million Capital Budget.  The City of Tallahassee is a full-service city of 24 departments, including Electric & Gas Utility, Aviation, and Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure (UUPI), with a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture and a strong emphasis on customer service.  As a member of the UUPI Department's Senior Leadership Team, the Assistant General Manager provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the Engineering Division, which provides engineering services for the Water, Sewer, Stormwater Management, and Transportation service areas.  The Assistant General Manager reports to the General Manager of UUPI and oversees approximately 110 FTEs.  Requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering in a related discipline and six (6) years of post-registration professional experience in one or more of the service areas listed above; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Three (3) years of experience must be in a supervisory capacity.  The ideal candidate must have strong communications, interpersonal, and leadership skills and should be a motivational leader and strategic thinker.  Must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) and obtain Florida registration within one year.  The salary range is $135,000-$155,000.  Starting salary will be dependent upon qualifications and is accompanied by an excellent benefits package.  The position is open until filled.  If you are interested in this outstanding opportunity, apply online at  Questions regarding this recruitment may be directed to S.
