GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide direct support to all departments within the Valuation Division, and reporting directly to the Valuation Director. Responsibilities of this position may have higher volume and need by times of Tax Roll year and may need to assist one department more during those time frames. The responsibilities included but are not limited to significant customer service and computer assisted mass appraisal duties. This position will assist in the collection, assessment and maintenance of data for all departments within the Valuation Division.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Review accounts and assist Business Owners with any questions regarding Commercial, Residential, and  TPP Assessments
  • Assist & Process DOR Forms in regards to TPP filings
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of all Valuation parcel information.
  • Responsibility to understand legal descriptions, county assessment maps, and aerials.
  • Respond to inquiries from other departments regarding Residential, Commercial, and Tangible accounts or parcels.
  • Assist and resolve the public’s questions and concerns regarding property assessments, taxation and appraising procedures, with proficiency and courtesy.
  • Perform daily office tasks such as data entry, proofing, filing, copying, maintaining records and other similar duties by following organization and department procedures.
  • Proficient use of measuring devices, digital camera, computer, calculator, fax machine, copy machine and multi-line telephone system.
  • Employees hired on or after February 1, 2016, must be a tobacco-free person, both on and off the job, for at least 1 year immediately preceding application and maintain same tobacco-free status throughout the term of employment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  • Graduation from an accredited two (2) year college or university with a Associates Degree in finance, accounting, economics, information systems, business, public administration or closely related area preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in property appraisal. Mass appraisal experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency using MS Word, and Excel

(Comparable training, education or experience may be substituted for above minimum qualifications).

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to insurance provider.
  • Certified Florida Evaluator (CFE) designation or real estate license preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, sitting for long periods of time at a computer or in a vehicle, lifting and/moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds, acceptable vision (with or without correction), acceptable hearing (with or without correction), ability to answer telephone, communicate effectively and provide information requested.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Inside an office environment.
  • Travel by vehicle to conferences, training, and meetings when needed.
