GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The essential function of the position with the organization is to provide excellent customer service, to the public and to communicate effectively and orally with co-workers and other county departments as it pertains to the Office of the Property Appraiser.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist the public with questions and concerns regarding property assessments, exemptions and appraising procedures with proficiency and courtesy.
  • Process digital and printed order requests from realtors and appraisers
  • Make address changes for property owners.
  • Process exemption applications and other forms.
  • Perform daily office tasks such as proofing, filing, copying, maintaining records and other similar duties by following organization and department procedures.
  • Able to proficiently use computer, calculator, fax machine, map machines and multi-line telephone system.
  • Employees hired on or after February 1, 2016, must be a tobacco-free person, both on and off the job, for at least 1 year immediately preceding application and maintain same tobacco-free status throughout the term of employment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  • Two (2) years of property appraisal, computer and customer service experience working in a property appraisal setting preferred.

(Comparable training, education or experience may be substituted for above minimum qualifications)

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to insurance provider.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, sitting for long periods of time at a computer, lifting and/moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds, acceptable vision (with or without correction), acceptable hearing (with or without correction), ability to answer telephone, communicate effectively and provide information requested.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Inside an office environment.
  • Occasional travel by vehicle to conferences, training, meetings, etc…
  • Works closely with others.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work unless an accommodation is approved by the Property Appraiser.
