Registration for the ACC Program will open on WEDNESDAY (August 5th) at 10:00 am EDT.  All CCC Graduates are encouraged to apply for this advanced certification program.  Before you apply to attend the ACC program, please check your calendars to ensure that you may attend all 3 workshops which are required to graduate from the ACC Program.  The dates for the 2015-2016 ACC program sessions will be:


October 22-23, 2015  

January 14-15, 2016         

April 7-8, 2016    


In order to apply, you must be a CCC graduate.  The tuition fee for the ACC Program is $450, which covers the cost of all three sessions as well as dinner on Thursday night, breakfast on Friday morning, and lunch on Friday afternoon (as well as drinks and snacks while you are with us).  Outside of the $450 registration fee, the only additional expenses will be the cost for the hotel on Thursday night and travel to and from the UF-Hilton. 


Scholarships are available for the ACC Program registration fee, these scholarships are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.  There are 5 Small County scholarships available for counties with populations under 75,000 (limit 2 per county) and 3 Vivian Alarcon scholarships for counties with populations over 75,000 (limit 1 per county).  The earlier you apply for the program and request a scholarship, the more likely you are to get a scholarship! 


UF/IFAS Extension is once again the sole sponsor of this program which means that all of the ACC courses will be held in Alachua County at the UF-Hilton.  Each class will begin on Thursday afternoon around 12:30 pm and will end on Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm.  This allows most commissioners time to travel the morning of the class and avoid the additional fee of another hotel night.  The hotel room rate is $139 plus taxes a night for each of the three course dates.


To submit your application for the ACC program, login to your portal on the FAC website on Wednesday, August 5th at 10:00 am EDT.  You must be logged in as the member who will be applying for the program (assistants, you will not be able to register the Commissioner under your account).  Submitting your application should only take a few moments.  Once you login to your portal, click on the events tab, then select the 2015-2016 Advanced County Commissioner Program registration.  From there, you will select one of three options (the ACC class with a full payment required or one of two scholarship request options).  Once the scholarships have been allocated, these options will reflect a SOLD OUT status.   Once you select your fee option, then select each of the three sessions below that and proceed by following in the prompts to finalize your registration.  You will receive a confirmation and receipt when you complete the registration.  Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will be officially registered and receive a confirmation email from me with the hotel reservation links  and your scholarship status (if you have requested one and have been approved).


This class will be limited to 30 participants, and it will fill up quickly, so you will want to get your application submitted as soon as possible on the morning of August 5th.  If you are a CCC graduate, we encourage you to apply to be a member of the next ACC class.  For more information, please contact Becky Berentsen at 850-414-7936.
