The first County Day of Recognition for National Service is an initiative being led by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), as part of National County Government Month. The intent is to show support by elected officials for the role being played by national service participants (AmeriCorps, VISTA, RSVP, Senior Companions, Foster Grandparents) in meeting community needs. Every day, in counties across America, national service is tackling tough problems and strengthening communities. On April 7, 2015, county leaders across the nation will recognize the impact of AmeriCorps and Senior Corps and thank those who serve on the first annual County Day of Recognition for National Service.

The request will take only a few minutes. County leaders can show their support and be included on a national list.
