The Florida Association of Counties is soliciting interest from our members to serve as our representative on the Florida Commission for Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. In 1993, a voluntary law enforcement accreditation program was established by Florida Statutes. The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. was formed and is comprised of four Police Chiefs, four Sheriffs and one representative from the State Law Enforcement Chiefs Association, the Florida Association of Counties, the League of Cities and the Florida Supreme Court. The Commission meets three times a year to oversee the program and to accredit agencies.
