The Department has announced it will adopt a new environmental resource general permit for public mooring fields pursuant to language in House Bill 999, passed in the 2013 Legislative Session.  The bill, which amended Section 373.118(4), F.S., revised the general permit requirements to limit mooring fields to no more than 100 vessels.   The prior law limited the size of mooring fields to 50,000 square feet, which turned out to be too small to feasibly construct most public mooring fields.
