Register for the NALGEP Brownfield Communities Network webinar today and gain valuable information about the recently announced grant guidelines and Request for Proposals for the FY2013 Brownfields Area-Wide Planning Program. According to EPA, “these grants may be used by communities to facilitate community involvement in developing an area-wide plan for brownfields assessment, cleanup and subsequent reuse on a catalyst site and other high-priority brownfield sites.” Grants will be funded up to $200,000 for two years. The application deadline is November 30, 2012.

EPA launched the Brownfields Area-wide Pilot Program in 2010 and provided grants and technical assistance to 23 pilot communities across the nation.  According to EPA, the program aims to “assist communities in responding to local brownfields challenges, particularly where multiple brownfield sites are in close proximity, connected by infrastructure, and overall limit the economic, environmental and social prosperity of their surroundings.”
