The Bill:

Provides funding for annual period beginning July 1, 2012, & ending June 30, 2013, to pay salaries, & other expenses, capital outlay - buildings, & other improvements, & for other specified programs and purposes of various agencies of state government

Super Homestead Cap Property Exemptions (SJR 312 / SJR 314)

Outcome:

Failed

The Bill:

Would have replaced the previous constitutional amendment (Amendment 4) with a new amendment that would include a “super-homestead exemption” equal to 30% of a homestead property’s just value in excess of $75,000 but less than or equal to $200,000, plus 15% of the property’s just value in excess of $200,000 but less than or equal to $400,000.

Negative fiscal impact of $3.7 Billion Over the First Four Years

Additional Homestead Exemption (HJR 1289 / HB 1291)

The Bill:

Would keep Amendment 4 on the ballot and add an additional constitutional amendment to the ballot providing homestead property owners with a super homestead cap property tax exemption

Tangible Personal Property Taxation (HJR 1003 / SJR 1064)

The Bill:

Places a constitutional amendment on the ballot that would provide an additional $25K exemption on tangible personal property making the total exemption $50K. Empower local governments to pass any additional exemptions to TPP should they choose to as an economic development tool.
