FAC recently joined the National Association of Counties and more than 200 organizations from 40 states in supporting the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant. FAC signed onto a coalition letter to subcommittee chairmen and ranking members of the House and Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies FY 2014 Appropriations Bills.

The SAPT Block Grant is a key source of funding for state substance abuse agencies, and is distributed to local level providers for addiction prevention, treatment and recovery services. Maintaining federal funding levels is critical to sustaining levels of service for outpatient care, detox, crisis stabilization, prevention, early intervention activities, and services to women, children, and veterans.
