In a continued partnership with the Federal Highway Administration, the National Association of Counties invites you to attend an invitation-only, small group peer exchange event.  This upcoming session will provide county leaders with the opportunity to explore exciting new developments in transportation, infrastructure and economic development, and develop strategies to leverage these innovations to promote local and regional prosperity. 

 

The event will be held in Chatham County, Ga. (Savannah) on March 23-24, 2017, and will focus on the county role in facilitating freight activities, with a particular focus on exploring megaregions and how counties can improve transportation connectivity and mobility in order to bolster stronger local, regional and global economies.  This event will include a tour of the Port of Savannah and roundtable discussions on national and international trends, as well as best practice examples of megaregion and infrastructure planning and investment in counties across the country.  This event will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23 and will conclude at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24.

Logistics

There is no fee to attend.  NACo has limited funding available to support travel costs, and can reimburse up to $1,000 per person for transportation and lodging expenses.  This is available to a limited number of participants on a first-come, first-serve basis, based on the order of registration.
