FAC meets with OTTED to discuss US Sugar deal
This week Chris Holley, FAC Executive Director and FAC staff meet with Mary Helen Blakeslee with the Governor’s Office of Tourism Trade and Development (OTTED) regarding the US Sugar deal with the state. This is an environmental project of national significance that could, if not properly prepared for, have significant economic impacts on our South Florida counties. Many groups are coming together over the coming weeks to conduct a study and develop a comprehensive plan to assist these counties through the six-year transition of US Sugar. The South Florida Water Management District has compiled significant information on the deal that can be accessed by clicking here. In addition, OTTED and SFWMD staff will be on hand at our September Policy Conference to discuss this environmental project and its implications.
