Health Care Appropriation Bill Passes Out of Policy & Budget Council
The House Policy and Budget Council passed the health care appropriation bill on Thursday. Two amendments were adopted that delay expansion of Medicaid reform to Miami-Dade, Monroe, Pasco, Pinellas, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Polk, and Manatee counties until 2010. Additionally, the council passed an amendment that allows the Governor, Senate President, and Speaker of the House to appoint workgroups to propose alternatives to health and Long Term Care reform. Currently, the proposed Senate budget does not include any Medicaid reform expansion proposals. To view recent articles, click here and here.
