Detention Cost Sharing Training Session Held
On Friday, February 22nd the Department of Juvenile Justice held a training session on Detention Cost Sharing. There were representatives from nine counties including Brevard, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Orange, Osceola, Pasco and Polk. There were five documents distributed at the training that are now posted on our website and can be accessed by clicking here. The documents are:
- New Proposed Billing Reconciliation Process as Outlined by DJJ, but not adopted into Rules as of yet
- PowerPoint Presentation of Detention Cost Sharing by DJJ DJJ Provider JJIS Access User Agreement (Do not sign and return yet, this is in very preliminary stages. FAC and FACA will provide an analysis of this proposed agreement put forward by DJJ in the future. Again, DO NOT sign and submit this form yet.)
- PowerPoint Presentation by DJJ on their Universal Access Service
- DJJ’s current information access privacy plan that they use with providers that have access to JJIS. DJJ offered this as a sample of what counties may want to consider adopting as policy amongst their own county staff, now that this new billing system will require some designated county employees to have access to information on JJIS that they were not privy to before.
There will be additional training prior to the new billing system going into effect in July, 2008. We will forward the details when they become available. If you have any questions or need additional information please contact Amanda Ghaffari.
