Polk County joins FAC Health Insurance Program

Polk County has become the latest addition to the FAC Health Insurance Program, joining a growing list of counties who have found the competitive advantage of FAC's partnership with its health provider Aetna.

Polk selected Aetna over eight other respondents as a result of a county-issued RFP. Aetna was the clear leader in every category which included cost, network adequacy, administrative capabilities, medical management capabilities, and performance guarantees. Polk's Risk Manager, Mike Kushner stated, "The County believes that Aetna's clinical capabilities, including its Care Engine technology and its 34 disease management program offerings will complement Polk County's aggressive approach to disease management". The county operates Employee Health Services which specializes in occupational health, wellness, and disease management programs for their employees and dependents.

With the addition of Polk to the FAC Health Insurance Program, more than 12,500 county employees will be covered under the program. Welcome aboard Polk County!
