FAC endorses the National Association of Counties (NACo) Deferred Compensation Plan. NRS 457 Plan provides another tool for retaining quality employees by enhancing a county's employee fringe benefits package at no cost to the county.
NACo's Deferred Compensation Plan is designed to allow every employee an opportunity to save money toward retirement while sheltering the investments from current federal withholding taxes.
Currently, over 300 Florida governmental jurisdictions offer a deferred compensation plan administered by NRS. Sixty-six Florida counties currently participate in the NRS program.
