The 2010 Regular Session will wrap up at the end of this month, April 30 and FAC will be there to provide you with a complete legislative wrap up.

Mark your calendars now for these important video webinars that will summarize all of the legislation that passed – and didn’t pass – that impacts county government.

Please note that should the legislature extend session for any reason these programs will be automatically moved to the week immediately following ‘sine die’ or the close of session.

Tuesday, May 4: Growth Management, Environment & Transportation
Join FAC legislative experts Diana Ferguson and Eric Poole as they discuss the major bills debated during the legislative session. A few of the topics that will be covered are: water, recycling, offshore drilling, fertilizer preemption, transportation funding, DCA and growth management to name a few.

Wednesday, May 5: Health & Human Services and Public Safety
FAC advocate Heather Wildermuth will be summarizing the many debates and future of Medicaid reform in Florida as well as bills pertaining to county health departments, homelessness and Medicaid funding.

Starting at 10:30 a.m. EST, FAC advocate Sarrah Carroll will cover the many public safety bills debated this session such as pretrial release, medical inmate, libraries and red light cameras.

Thursday, May 6, 2010: State Budget
FAC finance advocate Davin Suggs and the entire legislative team will be on hand to discuss they Florida State Budget – what passed / what didn’t and how it impacts your bottom line. Join them as the discuss savings that counties will see and any mandates counties can expect.

Friday, May 7, 2010: Finance, Tax and Administration
Join FAC Legislative Affairs Director John Wayne Smith and finance advocate Davin Suggs as they discuss TABOR, working waterfronts, sovereign immunity, E-911 and the many other tax bills debated during the session.
