CCC Workshops during Annual Conference
FAC's Annual Conference offers the opportunity to earn a total of 15 CCC credits at 3 CCC workshops.
Financial Management (6 Core Credits) - This workshop will be offered Wednesday, June 20th and registration is included with Annual Conference registration.
This course provides guidance for commissioners to better manage their county’s fiscal affairs. Participants will gain a basic understanding of the state’s fiscal trends, budgeting process, revenue sources available to their counties and the what, when and how to issue debt. Our featured speakers will be Jim Seuffert, the Director of Financial Management in Sarasota County; Sarah Bleakley, Of Counsel with Nabors, Giblin, and Nickerson, P.A.; and Brian Fender, Shareholder with GrayRobinson, P.A.
Communications (3 Elective Credits) - This workshop will be offered Thursday, June 21st and registration is also included with Annual Conference registration.
This course provides practical hands-on-training of proven communication strategies that will help commissioners better communicate with constituents. Participants will learn to communicate comfortably and effectively in any situation. This year's featured presentation is "YOU SAY MORE THAN YOU THINK: How to Use the New Body Language to Explode Your Confidence, Enhance Your Relationships, and Increase Your Sales!" by featured guest speaker Janine Driver. You definitely don't want to miss this dynamic presentation!
POST CONFERENCE WORKSHOP
Hot Legislative Topics (3 Elective Credits) - This workshop will be offered Friday, June 22nd. There is an additional registration fee of $50 to attend. To register for this workshop, click here.
This post conference session will focus on the hot legislative issues FAC is facing and how those issues will affect counties. Featured speakers will be FAC's Legislative Staff and their invited Legislative attendees.
An additional 3 Continuing Education credits will be given for attending the Annual Conference and connecting with other Commissioners and County Staff as well as the many vendors and Corporate Partners who will be exhibiting at the Trade Show.
