The 2011-12 Legislative Conference will be held at the Sandestin Beach Resort in Walton County. This event is the final opportunity for the membership and Legislative Policy Committees to meet and voice their opinion on the policies FAC lobbies during the legislative session. On the final day, commissioners vote and adopt the final FAC policies.

HOTEL - BOOK TODAY!
The Grand Sandestin is almost sold out - book today to get the reduced FAC rate of $129 for a Studio Unit or $144 for a 1-Bedroom Unit (plus applicable taxes). Make reservations by calling (800) 320-8115; the group code is 22J6NG. Sandestin requires a one (1) night's room deposit to be received within ten (10) days after a reservation is made, or it will be cancelled. The deposit can be paid by credit card or check.
Cancellations must be made 7 days prior to arrival to avoid paying a penalty equal to one (1) night’s room rate and tax. Upon our request, an exception was made and the cancellation was shortened from 2 weeks to 7 days prior. FAC understands that this is still a stricter cancellation policy than usual. it is necessary to ensure the low room rate that is being offered. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you understand.
CCC WORKSHOPS - EARN UP TO 17 HOURS
This year's Legislative Conference offers an incredible opportunity to earn up to 17 hours of credit toward the County Commissioner Certification (CCC) Program. By simply attending the conference, you will earn 2 hours of continuing credit.
Wednesday & Thursday
On Wednesday and Thursday, the conference agenda will include two Core CCC workshops - County Government Structure and Authority and County Government Roles and Responsibilities. Each course is worth 6 hours of core credit. These courses have not been offered this year, are needed by many to complete their CCC certifications and are included in your Legislative Conference registration fee.
Friday
On Friday, there will be a post-conference workshop - Understanding Charter Government - worth 3 hours of elective credit. A separate registration fee is required for Friday's workshop.
