Under Article VIII, section 1(e) of the Florida Constitution, each board of county commissioners must divide the county into districts of contiguous territory as nearly equal in population as practical, after each decennial census. Accordingly, during 2011 and 2012, the redistricting process at the county level will occur. The Florida Association of County Attorneys has tasked its General Governmental Committee to provide assistance to counties as they execute the redistricting process.
