The principal functions of the Committee are as follows:
a. The select committee shall develop and annually update a growth management agenda that has a prospective direction, reflects the needs of small, medium and large counties, and is responsive to the political environment in which changes are made.
b. Recognizing the complexity and range of issues impacting growth management, the select committee shall not be limited to the traditional policy committee structure of FAC. Rather, it will approach topics comprehensively by developing strategies that cut across all policy areas (i.e., transportation, land use, local finance).
c. The select committee shall identify short, intermediate, and long-range growth management goals and strategies.
d. The select committee shall not limit itself to legislative initiatives and shall consider administrative solutions where viable.
e. The select committee shall be inclusive of other groups (both internal and external to FAC) with growth interests (community, private and public sectors).
f. The select committee shall, among other tasks, focus on the development of “skill sets” and making them available for all groups in the decision making process (public and private).
g. The select committee will annually provide the Board of Directors written reports of its activities and such other reports as the Board requests or deems necessary, including reports to appropriate FAC legislative policy committees and caucuses.
