Overview: The Department distributed to its seven (7) geographical Districts per Section 5311 ARRA Grant Application Manual in early 2009. This manual contained general program information and requirements, threshold criteria, a description of the grant award process, general instructions for forms/exhibits and certifications, and grant application information. Each District notified prospective applicants within their geographical area. After evaluating applications the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has been working with cities, counties, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and other transportation partners throughout the state to develop the list of selected projects. This effort is based on the established transportation planning processes.
