During the first Committee Week this session, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) presented its Legislative Budget Request (LBR) to the House Agriculture and Natural resources Appropriations Committee.  The LBR proposes a total operating budget of approximately $1.5 billion, with $1.1 billion in fixed capital outlay and $402 million in operating costs.  Among DEP’s major priorities include:

  • Springs                                                         $50 million
  • Water Supply                                             $50 million
  • State Parks                                                 $45.5 million                      
  • Beach Restoration                                   $25 million
  • State Revolving Fund                             $304 million
  • Small County Wastewater Grants             $21 million
