On April 29, 2015, the Florida Senate adopted SJR 1654 sponsored by Senator Bullard recognizing May 11, 2015 as “Child Welfare Professionals Recognition Day” in Florida. Originally created in 2008 by then Senator Frederica Wilson, the Legislature has designated the second Monday in May as “Child Welfare Professionals Recognition Day” to recognize child welfare professionals who are so passionate about the safety of Florida’s children. Congresswoman Wilson is encouraging counties to pass resolutions in support of the day to recognize the dedicated welfare professionals across the state.
