The Governor’s Budget Proposal estimates the total county funding responsibility for juvenile justice to be $54,392,156, roughly 53% of the total estimated costs for juvenile detention.  While less than the total dollar amount proposed by the Governor in FY 14-15, this is over $20 million more than the counties were billed for detention costs in FY 14-15.  The Governor’s budget does request an additional $15,700,000 in current year (FY-15) funding to fund an agency deficit, but does not include any money towards repaying counties what they were overbilled.
