During the 2013 Legislative Session, the Florida legislature passed ethics legislation requiring that County Commissioners and Constitutional Officers take four hours of Ethics programming each calendar year.  The Florida Association of Counties wants to make it convenient for you to meet this requirement by offering a comprehensive Ethics, Public Records & Sunshine Law workshop that you may participate in and complete at your own pace.

For the last twenty years, FAC has offered a comprehensive mandatory Ethics Course as part of FAC's Certified County Commissioner (CCC) Program that meets the requirements addressed in this legislation. FAC's online workshop is modeled after our onsite program and includes videos of expert speakers from the Attorney General's Office and the Florida Commission on Ethics explaining Florida's stringent laws. Participants will learn ethics requirements for elected officials, understand the Sunshine Law and Public Records Law, learn about reporting requirements, and become familiar with the process of an ethics complaint.

This workshop is open and available to you now! Once you have registered for the $125 program, you will be able to pick which sessions you want to watch. You may choose to watch an hour or two at a time or you may opt to watch all three sessions at once to complete your requirements for the year.  After you have finished viewing each session, you will be prompted to answer a few questions and asked to sign-off to verify course completion. Once complete, you will receive an emailed certificate of completion verifying the hours completed.
