The membership approved the Association’s next five year strategic plan at Legislative Conference.  Over the past year FAC met with the membership to identify priorities and the direction the Associations needs to move in over the next five years.  The priorities identified are:

  • Ensure financial sustainability
    • Decrease dues revenue to 20% to diversify revenue mix
    • Increase participation of Counties who buy FAC enterprise products
    • Increase the flexibility for how funds are used
    • Build sufficient reserves for both operations and public awareness
  • Successfully advocate for our Member's interests
    • Proactively shape legislative issues that are important to our members
    • Strive to be known as the public policy expert and resource on the local government issues
  • Most trusted resource
    • Increase participation rates in FAC educational programs
    • Become sought out as a valued partner by those who share our mission
    • Expand and maintain our resource offerings, such as:
      • Reseach
      • Publications and policy positions
      • Fiscal analyses
  • Proactive and collaborative communications approach
    • Foster collaboration across counties and regions by:
      • effectively communicating about FAC efforts,
      • sharing Member's success stories, and
      • connecting members with shared interests to one another.
    • Coordinate messages throughout the state to enable FAC and its members to speak with one voice on issues of common interest.
