The Rural Caucus met on Wednesday and, after introducing its new Vice Chairman, Ralph Thomas (Wakulla County) and hearing a presentation from the Small County Coalition, discussed and debated new and revised policy statements regarding several issues of concern for small and rural counties. Among those issues discussed were the reauthorization of Enterprise Zones, the implementation of Amendment 1, the land application of septage waste, payment in lieu of taxes, and court funding.
The committee selected the following items as 2015 priorities:
* Medicaid County Cost Cap
* Enterprise Zones
* Amendment 1 Implementation (including PILT)
