U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx announced that Florida has been awarded a $20 million TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) grant to help fund the elevated 2.6-mile bridge over the Tamiami Trail (US-41).  The elevated bridge, which will help restore natural water flow into Everglades National Park, has already received a $90 million commitment by the Florida Legislature over the next three years.  The 2.6 mile stretch is in addition to the one-mile section already completed in March of 2013.
