FAC President Grover Robinson and FAC staff attended the Florida Chamber Healthcare Summit at the 2014 Future of Florida Forum in Orlando on Tuesday. Panelists discussed various current and emerging issues in healthcare, many of which affect local governments as employers as well as makers and implementers of healthcare-related policy. During three separate sessions, panelists considered the benefits of corporate wellness programs in terms of lowering healthcare costs and boosting employee morale and quality of life, the future of healthcare from the perspective of corporate CEOs, and finally innovations in healthcare technology and the state of research and development centered institutions in Florida. State Representatives Matt Hudson and Cary Pigman served as moderators, and President Robinson introduced panelists during the final session. As a member of the Florida Chamber Healthcare Alliance, FAC will continue to work with the Chamber and other stakeholders on pressing issues of common concern as we approach the 2015 Legislative Session.
